Desires

Once, I was perusing, what do I desire in life?
After all, I must get something worth the strife!
Through the woods, I discerned a beam of light,
And I leaped towards it, keeping it in my sight.
Only when I made at the scene, I learned of its inception,
But, we humans, never satiate.
I happened to glance over another ray of light, fancier, prettier, delightful.
And soon, found myself chasing, trying to annex this desire.
We all have umpteen desires.
We toil day and night to accomplish our material desires,
Yet, when we finally fulfil our desire, we don’t stop to revere it.
We run, we race, we leap towards another desire, without even treasuring what all we have achieved till now.
So,

“Toil, Achieve, Stop, Cherish.For one day, we all have to perish.”
